SUB- was an extraordinary opportunity to work with a non-dialogue script that challenges the conventional notions of storytelling. To be asked to guide such a project was an honour. From inception Maia and I knew that this project would require a talented, sensitive and dedicated cast and crew and we encouraged everyone’s creative feedback from the beginning. I am proud to say that our team created an environment of absolute creative support, insight and commitment.

For me, SUB- was the beginning of a number of live action and animation hybrids projects; a format that allows us as filmmakers to explore fantastical worlds and go beyond our dreams of a project. The team below reunited for Loveproof in 2006 and hope that it captures audiences in the same way SUB- has.
